How the odds work
Each team starts with a manually supplied power rating, updated after completed games by margin of victory. Remaining games are simulated with those ratings, including live scores and clocks. Actual conference title games are used when available; otherwise participants are projected from conference records. The latest AP Top 25 adds a modest selection-score bonus (up to 3 points), affecting playoff selection, seeding, and expected points—not game strength. AP rankings are not the CFP committee rankings. Weekly EP deltas use the poll available at the historical baseline; select a team to see its poll date and ranking change. Expected points = sum of points × probability of each result. Tied pool wins split probability equally. Estimates include simulation noise.
2026 qualification: the ACC, Big 12, Big Ten, and SEC champions qualify, plus the highest-ranked team from the American, CUSA, MAC, Mountain West, Pac-12, or Sun Belt. Remaining places follow committee ranking, with Notre Dame guaranteed a place if ranked in the top 12. The field has 12 teams; seeds 1–4 receive byes.
Current limits: actual CFP results and final pool scores are not tracked. See the README for model assumptions.
